§ 2-368. Duties generally.

The city attorney and his duly authorized assistants shall attend all council meetings, and shall draft all ordinances requested by the mayor or any alderman. The city attorney or his duly authorized assistants shall also be required to appear regularly in the municipal court and represent the city in the prosecution of violations of its ordinances and criminal statutes, and to represent the city in the prosecution of cases appealed from the municipal court to the circuit court of the county.
